The very notion of God would indicate that one has a significant amount of power. In the case of the Christian God, the Bible declares repeatedly that He is all-powerful. In Mark 4, Jesus calmed the storm and we are told that “the wind and the sea obeyed him.” God does not share our incessant need to justify and prove everything that He has done or said. The Bible declares that God “created the heavens and the earth.” He also created Adam and Eve.

The effects of sin certainly marred the earth. There is no end to the destruction that sin has caused upon God’s created universe. All the kingdoms of the earth have suffered under the effects of sin. So also, all of God’s created beings have been alienated and suffered. Natural disasters occur as a ripple effect of what happened when man sinned in the Garden of Eden.
